গল্পঃ After completing my A-levels, I started teaching part-time at a school and soon began offering coaching classes at home. Teaching became a consistent part of my life throughout my undergraduate years. At that time, I didn’t think much about saving, I spent whatever I earned. One day, my mother noticed this and asked me for a loan of 10,000 Taka. I gave it to her without hesitation. To my surprise, she went straight to the bank and opened a fixed deposit of 1 lakh taka in my name. When she returned, she told me I now owed her 90,000 taka, which I would have to repay in monthly installments. Bit by bit, I repaid the full amount. Once I did, she used the savings to open more fixed deposits under my name. That experience not only introduced me to the value of saving but also taught me discipline and how to manage money wisely, skills that proved invaluable when I later went abroad for my master’s degree.
